Combining 3 of our most popular courses of 2026, this workshop is designed to be a true ‘celebration of contemporary stained glass’! Combining expert guidance with a range of design templates, this day long workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who have attended previous glass sessions, looking to explore a slightly bigger and different challenge. During the session, I will talk you through and demonstrate the process of the tiffany foiling method step-by-step, to create either: - 1 detailed panel and 2 or 3 simpler designs to fit inside either the the metal trellis (supplied) - 4 small panels to fit inside a metal framed lantern (supplied) OR - a stunning 3D potted stained glass succulent! There will be a selection of panel designs to choose from, ranging from classical Victorian and Art Deco styles, geometric patterns through to landscapes and sunsets, as well as a huge selection of modern and reclaimed vintage glass to inspire you! There are also 4 or 5 different succulent designs, so you won’t be short of ideas! Starting with an introduction to different types of glass and design, we’ll cover how to handle and work with glass safely, before practicing cutting and shaping individual pieces of clear glass. Once you feel comfortable with this skill, you can then go on to deciding on your pattern and selecting your glass and starting to create your panels! There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and due to the small group size, everyone will be able to work at their own pace and have their own equipment, so no waiting in line! In the second half of the day, we will cover soldering and assembly, so that you are able to take home your fully finished piece. All tools, materials and safety equipment will be supplied. However, due to the nature of the craft, please can you ensure you are wearing closed shoes (no sandals, crocs or sling-backs) and that long hair is tied back. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but you will need to bring your own lunch. Please state on your booking form which item you would like to create on the day, to ensure the correct materials and patterns are available during the session.
