Service Description

From beautiful Tiffany lampshades from the late 1800s and elaborate chandeliers, through to simple candle holders and Christmas decorations with fairy lights making them sparkle, Stained Glass can transform the feeling and look of a space when changing lights come into play. In fact, it is often described as “The art of light” due to the contrast of dark solder lines to block light and the translucent glass to then throw rays of light patterns and colours around your space - so why not extend this to the outdoors! Combining 2 of our most popular courses of 2026 and at a stunning new venue for 2027, through expert guidance and a range of design templates, this day long workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who have attended previous glass sessions, looking to explore a slightly bigger and different challenge. During the session, I will talk you through and demonstrate the process of the tiffany foiling method step-by-step, to create 1 detailed panel and 2 or 3 simpler designs to fit inside either the the metal lantern or trellis frame (included in the ticket price). There will be a selection of designs to choose from on the day, ranging from classical Victorian and Art Deco styles, geometric patterns through to landscapes and sunsets, as well as a huge selection of modern and reclaimed vintage glass to inspire you! Starting with an introduction to different types of glass and design, we’ll cover how to handle and work with glass safely, before practicing cutting and shaping individual pieces of clear glass. Once you feel comfortable with this skill, you can then go on to deciding on your pattern and selecting your glass and starting to create your panels! There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and due to the small group size, everyone will be able to work at their own pace and have their own equipment, so no waiting in line! In the second half of the day, we will cover soldering and assembly, so that you are able to take home your fully finished piece. All tools, materials and safety equipment will be supplied. However, due to the nature of the craft, please can you ensure you are wearing closed shoes (no sandals, crocs or sling-backs) and that long hair is tied back. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but you will need to bring your own lunch and there is a cafe on site. We have a private kitchen facility within our area for you to use, as well as accessible toilets. Complimentary parking
